2021 Burke Ban

A burn ban is in effect when the North Dakot Rangeland Fire Danger Rating is in the High, Very High, Extreme and/or a Red Flag Warning has been issued. This includes the ignition of fireworks, garbage/pit burning, campfires, and farm or crop land.

Burning will only be allowed  when the North Dakot Rangeland Fire Danger Rating is Low or Moderate upon approval of the local Fire response authority who has jurisdiction over the designated area in Burke County.

Burke County, ND

We are located in northwestern North Dakota and were founded in 1910. Burke County is bordered on the north by Saskatchewan, Canada and we have a land area of 1104 square miles with a population of approximately 1970 for a density of about 2 people per square mile.

The courthouse is conveniently located in the town of Bowbells, ND just 69 miles from Minot and 107 miles from Williston.

Courthouse is open Monday – Friday 8:00-4:00pm

Closed for lunch from 12:00-12:30pm
